Dr. V. P.Singh, born in 1952, obtained degrees of B.Sc. (Hons.) Ag. & AH, M.Sc. Ag. (Agronomy) and Ph.D. (Agronomy) with specialization in Crop Physiology from G.B.Pant University of Agri. & Tech., Pantnagar, Uttarakhand, India in 1972, 1975 and 1982, respectively. He taught Agronomy to the under and post-graduate students of Rajendra Agricultural University, Pusa (Samastipur), Bihar during 1981 – 2006 and served the University in different capacity viz. Director, Seed & Farms; Director, Sugarcane Research Institute; Dean, Agriculture. Presently, he is working as Director Research of Rajendra Agricultural University, Pusa. His area of major interest is Agronomy especially sugarcane and soil fertility. He has published more than 40 research papers and guided 7 M.Sc. and 6 Ph.D. students. He is life member of Indian Society of Agronomy, Journal of Potassium Research and Farming System Research and Development Association. Besides, he is member of Editorial Board of Indian Journal Agronomy and member of Executive Committee of the Society, PI of Crop Production group of AICRP on Sugarcane and Member of RAC of IISR, Lucknow.
