Prof. Hong-Jie Dai is an assistant professor at Graduate Institute of Biomedical Informatics, Taipei Medical University, who received his Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from National Tsing-Hua University, Taiwan, in 2012. His research interests focus on text mining, natural language processing, bioinformatics and software engineering. Prof. Dai achieved great success in several international academic competitions. In 2009, his team won the first place of the interactor normalization task in the BioCreative workshop held by CNIO, Spain. In 2011, his team won the second place out of Asian teams that participated in the i2b2 shared-task on challenges in clinical natural language processing held by NIH-i2b2, USA. He got the Ph.D. dissertation award for the association for computational linguistics and Chinese language processing in 2012. Until now, he has published several papers in top SCI-indexed journals. His papers have been accepted by leading artificial intelligence or natural language processing conferences such as IJCAI, COLING, and IJCNLP.
