I am a Consultant Cardiac Surgeon working at Leeds General Infirmary, England since 1998. I have 27 years of cardiothoracic experience and have previously worked at Christian Medical College Vellore, Royal Brompton Hospital, London and NM Wadia Institute, Poona. My special interests include coronary artery surgery, valvular surgery and aortic surgery. I have done over 4000 open heart operations with 1.82% overall mortality and 1.01% CABG mortality. I have published articles on coronary artery surgery and its complications including post-infarct VSDs, ventricular rupture and ventricular aneurysms, aortic, mitral and tricuspid valve surgery, Tetralogy of Fallot, cardiac tumours, cardiac trauma, aortic aneurysms and dissections, aortic arch surgery, cerebral protection, systemic hypothermia, coronary anomalies, myocutanoeous and omental flaps, etc. I am an Honorary Senior Lecturer at University of Leeds, Educational Supervisor and Member, Regional Specialist Training Committee at Yorkshire Deanery, Examiner at Royal College of Surgeons at Edinburgh and Trainer at the Basic Surgical Skills Course at Royal College of Surgeons of England.
