Research in Applied Mathematics

Thematic issues of Research in Applied Mathematics focus on topics with high current interest which fall within the scope of the Journal. These issues will be organized by recognized experts in the field and attract manuscripts of the highest quality. Proposals for thematic issues of Research in Applied Mathematics are welcome at any time during the year and should be submitted by the Lead Guest Editor to: ram.ti@agialpress.com.

Proposals should include:

1. A suggested title which reflects the focus of the thematic issue
2. List of topics covered
3. A list of the Guest Editors who will join the Lead Guest Editors in managing the thematic issue (not more than 3)
4. A proposed timeline to include:
   1. Deadline for manuscript submission
   2. Date expected to conclude the first round of review (usually within 2-3 months of submission)
   3. A tentative publication date (usually within 6-9 months of submission)

All manuscripts submitted to thematic issues of Research in Applied Mathematics will undergo the editorial workflow detailed below. The process is single blinded where the reviewers know the identity of the manuscript authors, while the authors are unaware of the identity of the reviewers.

The entire editorial workflow is performed using the online Manuscript Management System. Once a submitted manuscript is confirmed by the editorial office to comply with the Journal's style, the manuscript will be forwarded to the Lead Guest Editor of the relevant thematic issue who may reject the manuscript if deemed not appropriate to the scope of the thematic issue or not of sufficient quality.

If the Lead Guest Editor determines that the manuscript is not of sufficient quality and/or does not falls within the scope of the thematic issue, he/she will reject the manuscript, otherwise he/she will assign a Guest Editor on the thematic issue to handle the reviewing process of the manuscript. The Guest Editor will either reject the manuscript if deemed of unacceptable quality or assign not less than two reviewers to evaluate the quality of the presented work and its merit for publication. The reviewers will submit their reports on the manuscript along with their recommendation of one of the following actions, to the Guest Editor

• Accept unaltered
• Consider after minor changes
• Consider after major changes
• Reject

The Guest Editor will submit his/her recommendation to the Lead Guest Editor who will make a decision on the manuscript, as follows:

Publish unaltered: The manuscript is accepted for publication

Publish after minor changes: The author(s) are notified to submit, within a time period specified by the Guest Editor, a revised copy of their manuscript with the required changes suggested by the reviewers and/or the Guest Editor. The author(s) should also submit a letter detailing all changes made to the manuscript. The Guest Editor will review the revised manuscript and, if satisfied, the manuscript will be accepted.

Publish after major changes: The author(s) are notified to submit, within a time period specified by the Guest Editor, a revised copy of their manuscript with the required changes requested by the reviewers and/or the Guest Editor. The author(s) should also submit a letter detailing all changes made to the manuscript.

In the event of minor or major changes, the revised manuscript may be returned to the original reviewers. The revised manuscript may be rejected, accepted as re-submitted or accepted after further changes.

Reject: Immediate irreversible rejection. This also will be the decision if a majority of the reviewers recommend rejecting the manuscript.

Neither the Lead Guest Editor nor the Guest Editor can serve as a reviewer of the manuscript they are overseeing in order to ensure a high-quality unbiased peer review process of all manuscripts submitted to Research in Applied Mathematics.
