Yufeng Wang received her B.S. degree in Genetics from Fudan University, China, her M.S. degrees in Statistics and Genetics, and her Ph.D. degree in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology from Iowa State University. Since 2003, she has been with the University of Texas at San Antonio, where she is now an Associate Professor of bioinformatics. Dr. Wang's expertise is in the area of bioinformatics, computational biology, systems biology and molecular evolution. Dr. Wang has published 39 peer reviewed journal papers and over 30 refereed conference papers. Her research has been supported by NIH, NSF, FDA, Texas State Funds, San Antonio Life Sciences Institute, and San Antonio Area Foundation. She has been an organizer of several special sessions and has served on technical program committee for various premier bioinformatics conferences. She is on the editorial board of the Frontiers in Evolutionary and Genomic Microbiology, the Computational Biology Journal, and the Open Zoology journal. She has been a reviewer for grant agencies such as NIH, NSF, DOE, USDA, and Wellcome Trust. She is an active reviewer for over 40 professional journals.
