Hsu-Shan Huang obtained his BSc and MS in Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Chemistry from National Defense Medical Center (NDMC) in 1985 and 1987, respectively. From 1987 to 1992, he was a lecturer at School of Pharmacy, NDMC. From 1992 to 1996, he was in University of Regensburg, Germany (Supervisor: Prof. Dr. Dr. Wolfgang Wiegrebe and Dr. Klaus Müller). He received his Dr. rer. nat. degree in 1996. In 1996, he return to Taiwan, he held the position of associate Professor (1997-2004) and became full professor in 2005 in NDMC. From 2000-2001, he was postdoctoral fellow in Institute of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, University of Muenster, Germany. From 2006 to 2007, he worked as a visiting scientist at the Scripps Research Institute (La Jolla, San Diego, California, USA). Currently, he was dean of School of Pharmacy, and also head of the Department of Research and Development, NDMC. His research interests include medicinal chemistry, new drug discovery, pharmacy education, chemical biology and organic and bioorganic chemistry.
