Dr. Rifat Latifi is the Director of Trauma at Hamad General Hospital and a Professor of Surgery at the University of Arizona. He is a graduate of the Medical Faculty from the University of Prishtina , Kosova. Dr. Latifi’ completed his internship and the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio, residency in General Surgery at Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven, Connecticut, and Surgical Critical Care Fellowship at New York Medical College, Bronx New York. Dr. Latifi specializes in trauma, general surgery, and surgical critical care, as well as surgical nutrition (both enteral and total parenteral nutrition), re-operative complex surgery, abdominal wall reconstruction, and advanced laparoscopic surgery. He has authored or co-authored over 120 peer review articles and book chapters and has edited 10 books on surgical nutrition, advanced laparoscopy and telemedicine and complex abdominal wall surgery.
