Dr. Federica Pellati graduated in Medicinal Chemistry and Technology (cum laude) on February 2000 at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, Italy. On March 2004 she got the PhD degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, by presenting a final thesis entitled “Development and application of chromatographic methods and biological assays for the analysis of bioactive natural compounds”. Since 2006 she is an Assistant Professor in Medicinal Chemistry at the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences (now Department of Life Sciences) of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia. She is now the Coordinator of International Relations at the same Department.
The research activity of Dr. Pellati has focused on the development, optimization and validation of innovative techniques for metabolite profiling/fingerprinting of natural products. Another important field of research is represented by the isolation and structural characterization of biologically active compounds of natural origin.
Dr. Pellati is the author of 38 scientific papers in international peer-reviewed journals, 3 proceedings in international peer-reviewed journals, 2 peer-reviewed invited book chapters and 50 communications in international and national congresses. She is currently an associated editor and an editorial board member of 2 international Journals in the areas of chromatographic analysis of bioactive compounds. She also serves as a reviewer for several international Journals in the ambit of Pharmaceutical, Plant and Food Analysis.
