He was born in Capital Federal, Buenos Aires, Argentina. He received his degree in Software Engineering at the Universidad Nacional del Centro de la Provincia de Buenos Aires, Tandil, Buenos Aires, Argentina (UNICEN). In finished his doctoral studies in Scientific Computation at Laboratorio Nacional de Computacao Cientifica - LNCC/MCT - Petropolis, RJ - Brazil (National Laboratory for Scientific Computation) in March 2007. During his Doctoral studies he also contributed in the HeMoLab (hemolab.lncc.br) project at LNCC. He lead and was responsible for Scientific Software Development at the Center for Computational Imaging & Simulation Technologies in Biomedicine at Universitat Pompeu Fabra from April 2007 to September 2008, home of GIMIAS platform (www.gimias.org). He lead a research team within CISTIB focused on Image-Based Technologies in Vascular Hemodynamics, were he held a position as Researcher at the Center for Networked Biomedical Research Bioengineering, Biomaterials and Nanomedicine (CIBER-BBN) funded by the Spanish Instituto de Salud Carlos III. He currently holds a position as researcher at CONICET, Argentina. His current research interests include all aspects of model based image processing, variational principles, numerical methods, medical image processing, virtual medical devices and agile methodologies for software development.
