Dr. Millioni graduated in Biological Science at University of Padova (Italy) in 2002. Subsequently he received his PhD in Diabetology and a five years specialization degree in “Laboratory Medicine-Biochemical Chemistry” at University of Padova. In 2004,he won the second prize of the "Start Cup Business Plan Competition” at the University of Padova with a project on an innovative process of protein separation, the two-dimensional polar electrophoresis, which is currently commercially available. He was the founder and R&D manager of P-Dimensional S.R.L., a Spin Off company of the University of Padova from 2004 to 2007. Dr. Millioni has a long-standing experience in electrophoresis, chromatography and mass spectrometry. His main researches focus on diabetic nephropathy, valve calcification, atherosclerosis, amino acid metabolism, and proteomics. Currently, dr. Millioni works as a research fellow at the Proteomic Centre of the University of Padova and, since 2011, he is also the Clinical Laboratory Director of “Centro Medico Radiologico 3P” at San Donà di Piave (Italy). He has authored and co-authored 35 (16 as first author) papers on peer-reviewed journals, 1 granted patent, 4 textbook chapters and serves as reviewer for international scientific journals such as PLoS ONE, Atherosclerosis, Journal of Proteomics & Bioinformatics, International Journal of Medicine and Medical Science Research.
