Dr. Ming Pei is an Associate Professor and a Director of Stem Cell and Tissue Engineering Laboratory in the Department of Orthopaedics, West Virginia University. He also serves as an Adjunct Professor in Exercise Physiology and Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering at the West Virginia University. He received PhD degree from Beijing University in China and conducted his Postdoc in Harvard – MIT Division of Health Sciences and Technology. His research focuses on (1) cartilage, bone, intervertebral disc, and meniscus tissue engineering and regeneration; (2) adult stem cell proliferation and differentiation; (3) decellularized stem cell matrix and reconstruction of in vitro 3D microenvironment; and (4) chondrogenic, osteogenic, and adipogenic signaling pathways and epigenetic regulation.
