Marc Yeste graduated with a Bachelor of Science and Master of Biotechnology degrees and earned his European PhD in 2008. He also obtained the Bachelor of Social Sciences (graduated first in class) at UNED. Dr Yeste was Associate Professor of Cell Biology at the Faculties of Medicine and Science at the University of Girona (2007-2010), Visiting Researcher at the Institute of Zoology, Zoological Society of London (UK) (2006-2007) and Postdoctoral Research Fellow “Juan de la Cierva” at Department of Animal and Medicine Surgery, Autonomous University of Barcelona, where he lectured Animal Reproduction. He is currently Marie Curie Research Fellow at Nuffield Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, University of Oxford. So far, Dr Yeste has published 64 papers in peer-reviewed journals, contributed to five books (one as Editor) and co-authored 97 communications to International Conferences. His research has been focused on mammalian sperm preservation in liquid and frozen storage, the effects of feed on semen quality, and on the sperm interactions with oviductal and epididymal epithelial cells in in vitro co-culture. His current investigations deal with PLC? and human infertility.
