Dr. Eman M. Alissa received her PhD in 2005 from the School of Biomedical and Molecular Sciences, University of Surrey, UK. Her thesis was involving micronutrient status in cardiovascular diseases. She instantly became the assistant head of the nutrition unit, in King Fahad Medical Research Center, King Abdulaziz University. In 2007 she was appointed the Vice Supervisor General, Joint Supervision Program, KAU. She is now an Associate Professor in the clinical biochemistry department, Faculty of Medicine, KAU. Her research interests are mainly in the field of clinical nutrition like: trace elements and antioxidant vitamins status in chronic diseases, novel cardiovascular risk factors, nutritional epidemiology in cardiovascular diseases, and aging and chronic diseases. Dr Eman has published around 30 articles and attended several conferences where she presented her research work results.
